If you’ve been on social media in the past couple months, you’ve probably seen the brand Coffee Over Cardio. As a coffee lover, I couldn’t get away from all the ads and positive reviews, so I decided to see if the hype was real. I was intrigued by the reason the CEO, Abby Scott, started the brand and because they had such good reviews online. I ordered four different flavors to try out and received them the next week. I also ordered a K-cup (not pictured) so I can have this coffee at the office 🙂
I started drinking coffee a few years ago and slowly (very slowly) fell in love with it. I started out as a mocha drinker, then transitioned to lattes and cappuccinos and now I typically drink my coffee black. Occasionally, I’ll still get a cappuccino or a latte if I go to a coffee shop, but for every day coffee, I use the office coffee machine to get my caffeine fix. It’s much cheaper and in my opinion, still delicious. I like to drink coffee more for the flavor than for the caffeine so I try to only drink coffee 3 times a week so I don’t get addicted to it. With all that being said, let’s get into my opinion of the products!
I’ll be honest, I was very skeptical about how much I would like this coffee. It seemed like everyone promoting it, did so just because of their discount and I even found a website stating she didn’t receive anything for you using her discount code (I looked into it and found this to be a lie; everyone with a code receives a commission). Anyway, I tried the flavor that seemed to be the most popular first: Messy Bun aka cinnamon bun flavor. I was a little hesitant to try this one since I don’t like cinnamon rolls but I figured I’d see what all the hype is about. One of the reasons the founder made this company is because she wanted a coffee that tasted good black. Which is right up my alley! So of course, I tried this coffee without anything added to it. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I really enjoyed this coffee. It did have a hint of cinnamon flavor but nothing too sweet or strong like I thought might be the case because of the name of the flavor. It has a nice flavor to it and was very smooth and easy to drink. I will definitely be drinking this one again!
The second flavor I tried was Flourish: Island Breeze. This one is a medium roast which I gravitate more towards (usually because that’s what’s in the office selection). I was a little bummed I wasn’t going to have Messy Bun again since I thoroughly enjoyed that one, but I also wanted to try more than one flavor before I wrote my review. I made the coffee in my French press and was very surprised when I took a sip. It was really smooth and not bitter at all which I find to be the case for a lot of black coffees, especially the darker roasts. I had to stop myself from drinking it all up in 2 minutes! Needless to say, I liked this one better than the Messy Bun!
Overall, I think the company has some great quality products and I always like supporting a female run small business (although I’m not sure they’re going to be so small soon! lol). I reached out to them for a discount code to share with you all if you’d like to try it as well. You can use “10LAURA” for 10% off your purchase. I do receive a small commission for this and really appreciate if you use my code <3
