What a Typically Day of Eating Looks Like

Wow, this year is flying by!  One of my goals this month is to publish a post at least once a week and as you can see I’m a little behind…

The hardest part for me when I first started my fitness journey was my diet.  Now before I go any further, let me explain what I mean by the word “diet”.  According to the dictionary definition, there are two meanings of this word, and I think most people assume the second definition when we hear the word “diet” which is defined as “a special course of food to which one restricts oneself, either to lose weight or for medical reasons.”  The first definition of the word and the meaning that I am referring to is “the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats.”  This is important because being fit and healthy isn’t about going on a diet (second meaning) for a short time, it’s a lifestyle change.  You have to continually make healthy choices to live a healthy life.

That being said, I wanted to share with you what I typically eat in a day to help give you some ideas of healthy, satisfying meal and snack options that keep you full throughout the day.  This is what I typically eat but I also like eat sweets way more often than I should! 😉  If you read my post about healthy fats, you’ll know why I love to include nuts, avocados and olive oil in my diet.  I’ve also given a rough calorie and macro estimate of each meal.
